Computershare Limited (ASX:CPU) has today completed its acquisition of Busy Bees Childcare Vouchers Limited (BBCV), one of the leading UK based managers and administrators of childcare voucher schemes.

Launched in 1999, BBCV provides around 100,000 working parents with childcare vouchers each month, through more than 12,000 organisations. Clients include FTSE 250 companies and over 5,000 SMEs; as well as numerous public sector bodies ranging from Police Forces, Councils and NHS Trusts to Government departments. BBCV employs over 250 staff dedicated to the management and administration of childcare voucher schemes. Computershare is the world’s leading provider of share registration and employee share plan services, responsible for over 100 million shareholder accounts. The company also delivers critical management services to the UK’s public sector via its Deposit Protection, Gilts, NHS and Electoral Management contracts; securely handling billions of pounds each day.

Chris Morris, Computershare’s Chairman and UK Managing Director said: ‘This is a very exciting acquisition for us. BBCV and ourselves are both leaders in our fields, and we now have a fantastic opportunity to combine our technological, processing and financial knowledge to deliver an even better service to clients.’ John Woodward, BBCV’s CEO commented: ‘’Computershare very much epitomise the BBCV way of doing business – straightforward, innovative and customer-focused. I am delighted with the deal, and have no doubt that this is a highly positive move for both employees and clients. There are significant opportunities for us to look at improving our services for employers, parents, and carers in the near future; as well as to increase our share of the overall market both in the UK and overseas.’’
