D&A EMPLOYEES SEEING THE BENEFIT OF CHILDCARE VOUCHERS

Dollond and Aitchison (D&A) was established 250 years ago and is the oldest retail chain on today’s high street. The company is owned by De Rigo, one of the world's largest manufacturers and distributors of premium eyewear.

D&A employs around 3,000 people, including 600 qualified opticians and 250 dispensing opticians. The company is dedicated to improving its staff and invests more than £2million a year on training in stores and at its dedicated Training and Conference Centre in central Birmingham.

In line with these values of being employee-centric, D&A have introduced the Busy Bees Childcare Voucher scheme to help staff reduce the cost of their childcare.

The company is offering a helping hand to its employees with children under the age of 16, by enabling them to request childcare vouchers in exchange for part of their salary. D&A launched the Busy Bees Childcare Voucher scheme in January 2006 across its three offices and 250 retail stores and now has 32 parents regularly requesting both paper and E-vouchers which will be used to pay for their childcare.

As Busy Bees Childcare Vouchers are exempt from tax and National Insurance Contributions, parents using the scheme are able to make substantial savings on any registered childcare, including nurseries, nannies, au pairs, pre and after school clubs and holiday schemes. Employers are also able to save on National Insurance Contributions.
