Busy Bees Wins British Library Account

The British Library has selected Busy Bees as its Childcare Voucher provider to help Library staff save money on the cost of their childcare.

From October, staff at the British Library’s sites in London and Yorkshire will be able to request Busy Bees Childcare Vouchers in exchange for part of their salary.

Childcare Vouchers are exempt from tax and National Insurance Contributions and enable working parents to save up to £1,196 a year (subject to individual circumstances) on registered or approved childcare.

Busy Bees is the market leading Childcare Voucher provider in the UK, providing more than 9,000 organisations with its Vouchers. The company adds the British Library to its growing list of prestigious customers following a thorough tendering process.

Margaret Tylee, Employee Relations Manager at the British Library, said: “We already run an employee benefits package, which is enjoyed by many of our staff, and the use of Childcare Vouchers in this way will be a valuable addition to our current offering, especially for our working parents.

“Busy Bees was selected as our preferred supplier because we were impressed by their Childcare Voucher experience and their approach to the marketing and support of the scheme.

Dave Thackray, National Accounts Director for Busy Bees, said: “We are delighted to have been chosen as Childcare Voucher supplier to British Library staff and are looking forward to growing the number of parents taking advantage of this employee benefit.

“This win must be credited to the combined efforts of our tenders, sales and marketing departments, who worked tirelessly to produce a compelling and attractive proposition for the client.”

Busy Bees’ market leading Childcare Voucher scheme is offered by all types of organisations, from SMEs to some of the FTSE 100’s biggest corporations, including 300 health trusts, 22 police forces and 73% of UK councils.

The British Library holds more than 13 million books, 920,000 journal and newspaper titles, 57 million patents, 3 million sound recordings. Its treasures range from the Magna Carta to the Beatles’ lyrics.
