How do Childcare Vouchers Work? |
|
Childcare Vouchers can only be requested if your employer has agreed to take part in a Childcare Voucher Scheme.
Under the Childcare Voucher Scheme, parents can request up to £55 per week (£243 per month) in non-taxable and exempt from National Insurance Contribution Childcare Vouchers.
Parents make the saving by entering a ‘salary sacrifice’ agreement with their employer. Working parents ‘exchange’ part of their gross salary before tax and National Insurance deductions, requesting up to the cap value £55 per week (£243 per month) in Childcare Vouchers.
Childcare Vouchers are available to both basic and higher rate tax payers.
Requesting Childcare Vouchers can offer families potential savings of up to £2392* per family per annum.
The Vouchers can then be used to pay for your childcare for children from 0-16 years old, including; Day Nurseries, Childminders, Before & After School Clubs, Holiday Schemes, Nannies and even Au Pairs.
