Parents working at NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde are able to save hundreds of pounds a year on the cost of their childcare.
The Trust launched the Busy Bees Childcare Voucher scheme to offer working parents the opportunity to save up to £1,196 a year on registered or approved childcare (subject to individual circumstances).
Julie McQueen is Clinical Risk Manager at NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde and the mother of two young children.
She and her husband, Les, who also works for the Trust, have elected to exchange part of their salaries for Busy Bees Childcare Vouchers each month. This move is already reaping awards.
She said: "As a middle class family, we do not qualify for any childcare related tax credits. The Busy Bees Childcare Voucher scheme is the first opportunity we have had to receive help with our childcare costs and, with having two children in full time care, we were eager to sign up to the scheme.
"Thanks to Childcare Vouchers, we are jointly picking up over £100 more in our salaries a month. This is a great help each month and means we will save more than £1,200 in one year.
"We are grateful to our employers for introducing this excellent benefit."
Busy Bees Childcare Vouchers are exempt from tax and National Insurance Contributions. Parents are able to request up to £243 per month (or £55 per week)* in vouchers to pay for any form of registered childcare, including nurseries, nannies and pre and after school clubs.
